Walmart and Lowe’s shoplifting cases prompt Florence police to ask residents for tips

Florence, South Carolina – Florence police are asking for the public’s help as investigators work to identify several people believed to be connected to two separate shoplifting cases reported at major retail stores in the city.

The Florence Police Department said the first case happened on May 1, 2026, at the Walmart located at 230 N. Beltline Drive. The case is listed as 2026-003113.

Police said the people shown in the department’s attached photos are believed to have been involved in the incident, and investigators are hoping someone in the community may recognize them.

Authorities are also seeking help in a second shoplifting investigation, listed as case 2026-003211.

That incident took place earlier, on April 20, 2026, at the Lowe’s store located at 2301 David H. McLeod Boulevard. As with the Walmart case, police released photos of individuals they want to identify and are asking residents to take a close look.

While the two incidents happened at different locations and on different dates, both remain active investigations.

Police have not released additional details about what was taken or whether the cases are connected. For now, the department’s focus is on finding people who may know something useful, even if the information seems small.

As Florence police continue reviewing the cases, community assistance could help investigators move closer to identifying the people involved and resolving the reported shoplifting incidents.
