New Circle K brings fuel and quick-stop shopping to busy West Florence corridor

Florence, South Carolina – Florence has added another familiar name to its growing convenience retail scene, with Circle K opening a new store in the western part of the city.

The new convenience store and gas station is located at 220 N. Cashua Drive, at the corner of West Darlington Street and across from Nissan of Florence. It marks Circle K’s third location in Florence, but it is the first one positioned to directly serve the West Florence area.

The store opened following months of construction, bringing another national brand option to a busy local corridor.

According to information shared by a Florence Circle K employee, the grand opening was scheduled for 6 a.m. on April 23.

Circle K is widely known for fuel service, quick-stop shopping, grab-and-go food, snacks and its Polar Pop cups. The company also offers items such as pizza, salads, wings, breakfast foods and other convenience-store staples for customers looking for something fast while on the road or during the workday.

The newest Florence location adds to the company’s already large footprint.

According to Circle K’s website, the chain operates about 16,700 stores across 31 countries and territories, with many of those locations offering fuel services along with retail products.

While Circle K is now recognized across the world, its roots go back more than 60 years.

The company traces its beginning to 1951, when Fred Hervey purchased three Kay’s Food Stores in El Paso, Texas. From that small start, the brand grew into one of the most recognizable names in the convenience retail industry.

For Florence, the new store means more than just another gas station. Its West Florence location gives residents, commuters and nearby workers another option for fuel, coffee, snacks, meals and quick everyday purchases.

The city already had two Circle K stores before this opening, but the Cashua Drive location expands the brand’s reach into a part of Florence that had not yet been served by the chain.

More information about the company is available through Circle K’s official website.
