Montessori School of Florence to mark International Peace Day with a special event focused on unity and hope

Florence, South Carolina (Press release) – The Montessori School of Florence is proud to announce its celebration of International Peace Day on Friday, September 20th, at 11:00 AM. As part of the school’s commitment to fostering global awareness and peaceful values, the entire school community will come together for a meaningful ceremony centered around peace, unity, and hope for the future.

The event will include a performance by the children, who will sing the beautiful and heartfelt song, “Light a Candle for Peace.”  This special gathering will take place in the school’s gymnasium, where students, staff, and families will join together to reflect on the importance of peace in our lives and communities.

International Peace Day, established by the United Nations in 1981, is a day dedicated to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations. This year’s theme is, “Building a Culture of Peace.”  The Montessori method places great emphasis on Peace Education, teaching children to resolve conflicts peacefully, understand different cultures, and foster kindness and empathy in their daily lives. This philosophy is central to the Montessori School of Florence’s mission to develop not only academic excellence but also socially conscious and emotionally intelligent individuals.
