Peter Patel, who owns Shreeji Properties of Florence LLC, is in charge of the development. The business will be open every day of the week from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and will hire between 25 and 30 individuals. SCNOW spoke to Patel, more details about the project can be found here.

Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins started Baskin-Robbins in 1945 with the goal of offering more than just the usual three flavors of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. They came up with the idea of “31 flavors,” one for each day of the month. This idea continues to be a big part of the brand today. The company has added almost 1,400 flavors to its roster since then.

There are 19 Baskin-Robbins stores in South Carolina right now. Some of them are in Hartsville, Lake City, Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Columbia, and Rock Hill. The new Florence store will make it much easier for people in the area to go to the famous pink-and-blue chain.

Baskin-Robbins remains the biggest chain of ice cream specialty shops in the world, with more than 2,400 outlets in the US and more than 7,700 sites in 33 other countries. The fact that it is opening in Florence shows that it continues to expand and that people in the area want its popular frozen desserts.
