Cherokee County, South Carolina – With a $150 million investment in its Gaffney manufacturing site, Nestlé USA has revealed ambitions to increase its activities in Cherokee County, further strengthening the economy of South Carolina. The move highlights the company’s ongoing dedication to the area, where it has been a pillar of the local economy for almost 45 years.
The Gaffney facility, located at 2132 Old Georgia Highway, has been operational since 1980. Along with this large investment, the factory will add modern automation and digital technology and open a new manufacturing line devoted to single-serve frozen meals. This modernization effort is aimed at meeting the growing consumer demand for Nestlé’s popular frozen meal brands, such as Stouffer’s.
“This investment further solidifies our dedication to the Gaffney community, where Nestlé has been an integral part for nearly 45 years. It also reflects our continued commitment to enhance our U.S. manufacturing footprint and in-house capabilities. These enhancements will enable us to meet the consumer demand for the beloved brands in our frozen meals portfolio.” said Nestlé USA Gaffney Factory Manager Nicole Caldwell, according to a press release.
The announcement was met with enthusiastic support from state and local officials, who praised Nestlé’s expansion as a testament to the region’s business-friendly environment and skilled workforce.
“South Carolina’s strong economy and talented workforce make our state an ideal place for major companies like Nestlé USA to expand. We congratulate Nestlé USA on this $150 million investment in its Cherokee County facility, which not only reflects the company’s confidence in South Carolina but will also help strengthen our communities,” Gov. Henry McMaster said.
Having teamed with Nestlé for decades, Cherokee County is expected to benefit economically from the growth. Emphasizing the value of this connection, Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III referred to the investment as “a major victory for Cherokee County” and a reflection of the company’s close relationships to the surrounding community.
Since the Gaffney factory opened, Nestlé USA’s presence there has been a major engine of economic development. The business has developed close ties with the surrounding community over time, creating employment and helping the neighborhood to flourish. Leaders from across the state praised the business for its dedication to upholding and growing these contributions.

Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee Harvey S. Peeler Jr. underlined the importance of the expansion. For more than 40 years, Peeler Jr. stated, Nestlé USA has benefited Cherokee County. This $150 million expansion is yet another example. He honored Nestlé USA for this investment on behalf of Cherokee County and the state of South Carolina.
Hugh Weathers, Commissioner of Agriculture for South Carolina, highlighted Nestlé’s influence in the agriculture sector of the state, portraying it as a major player in the local economy. Over many years, this food and beverage company has shown its dedication to South Carolina by creating employment and servicing the public. For the state, this development is rather welcome.
“We’re thrilled that Nestlé USA has chosen Cherokee County for their $150 million expansion. This decision highlights our business-friendly environment and our exceptional workforce. Nestlé USA’s continued investment is a testament to our strong community and economic potential,” Cherokee County Council Chairman Tim Spencer said.
The investment reflects Nestlé’s strategic priorities as much as it does the increase in output. Having 112 offices and facilities spread across 28 states, the corporation is focused on improving its U.S. production capacity to keep ahead in a competitive industry.
The local community benefits as much as Nestlé USA does from its Gaffney growth. Investing in modern infrastructure and technologies will help the business to position itself for future expansion and confirm its dedication to Cherokee County. The initiative promises local citizens economic development, employment possibilities, and the continuation of an existing more than four-decade-spanning cooperation.
The Gaffney facility is poised to become even more important for Nestlé’s activities as well as the South Carolina economy as new developments take shape. Strong backing from state and municipal officials will help Nestlé’s investment to have long-lasting advantages for the area and beyond.
