Turkish manufacturer brings high-tech copper wire production to South Carolina with $34 million investment, 135 new jobs

Fairfield County, South Carolina – Mega Metal said today that Fairfield County will be the location of its first manufacturing business in South Carolina. The Turkish-based copper wire manufacturer will spend $34 million to turn a 91,000-square-foot property at 364 Blue Granite Parkway in Ridgeway into a modern plant. This marks a significant step for the company as it deepens its footprint in North America and taps into the regional workforce.

Construction is already in progress; the facility is scheduled to start running in September 2025. Once operational, the factory will concentrate only on making superfine electrolytic oxygen-free (EOF) copper wire—a vital component in industries from automotive and medical to aerospace and military. At full capacity, the Ridgeway plant is expected to produce 55 million pounds of wire annually, supplying sectors that need the greatest degrees of purity and performance.

The investment is anticipated to create 135 new jobs in Fairfield County, hence strengthening local employment and economic development. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development authorized a bundle of job development credits to help the project in line with South Carolina’s more general goal of attracting innovative manufacturing activities. County and state officials have underlined the action as a strategic victory for the area, stressing both the quick job generation and the long-term possibility for supplementary company expansion.

“This investment in Fairfield County is not only a manufacturing milestone – it is a reflection of our long-term commitment to the North American market. We are proud to grow alongside the state of South Carolina, contribute to the regional economy and build a foundation of industrial excellence. Through this investment, Mega Metal is poised to become a key player in the U.S. supply chain, offering strategic support to high-demand industries across the continent,” said Mega Metal Inc. Board Chairman Cuneyt Turgut.

Manufacturing is thriving in South Carolina, and I’m confident Mega Metal will be well-positioned with our strong workforce,” McMaster said.
