Summer camp in Florence opens doors for young minds to grow beyond the classroom

Florence, South Carolina – Florence 1 Schools has opened registration for its much-anticipated Extended Day Summer Enrichment Camp, inviting families across the district to secure spots for a summer filled with discovery and fun. Running from June 2 to July 11, 2025, the program promises an appropriate balance of academic support and artistic discovery for children from preschoolers to upper elementary age, pausing only on July 4th.

The core of the Extended Day Academy is a straightforward objective: to expand every child’s horizons through practical learning experiences. Participants will have the opportunity to improve their math skills one morning, then grab a paintbrush the next, or perhaps write a basic piano melody before starting coding exercises. Under the close supervision of caring, qualified professionals, a typical day might start with a group writing exercise, transition into an outdoor sports activity after lunch, and end with a technology session.

The camp will be held at two locations: North Vista Elementary invites youngsters 12 and under; the R.N. Beck facility opens its doors just for 3- and 4-year-olds. Aiming to provide consistent, meaningful childcare all summer long, both sites will run from 7 AM to 5 PM, assisting working families. With smaller class sizes at R.N. Beck meant to provide the youngest students more individual attention, children will be grouped by age to guarantee activities are age-appropriate and interesting.

Families can register online at the Florence 1 Schools portal for a cost of $125 per week, per child. Enrollment spans the whole camp season, hence parents are charged weekly for every open week, so simplifying planning and payment. Families are encouraged to register early to lock in their spot and avoid missing out.

Florence 1 Schools advises parents to go to the registration website as early as possible given expected high demand and limited availability. The Extended Day Summer Enrichment Camp wants to inspire curiosity, foster confidence, and keep young minds busy until the new school year starts whether they are potential tech innovators, aspiring sports, or budding artists.
