Florence, South Carolina – Next month, local company owners and entrepreneurs will have a chance to meet with important support groups at a Small company Resource & Network Forum. The goal of the forum is to make Florence’s small business community stronger.
The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, SC 1890, and Research Extension are working together to put on the forum. The goal is to get small business owners, government organizations, and resource partners together to share information and make it easier for people in Florence County and the City of Florence to receive the tools they need to build their businesses.

The event will take place on Tuesday, February 24, at the City Center, located at 324 West Evans Street in Florence. The event will be open from 10 a.m. to noon and is for business owners at all stages of growth, from startups to established organizations looking to grow.
Attendees may expect a concentrated agenda that focuses on helping small businesses in a practical way. Organizers say the event will give advice on getting technical help, getting ready for funding, and getting news on business certifications. Attendees will also learn about certification processes that might help local businesses get contracts and find new opportunities.
A number of groups that help businesses grow and the government buy things will be there to give information and answer questions. The Small Business Development Center, the South Carolina Commission for Small Business Certification, the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, the South Carolina Commission for Advancement and Engagement, and the City of Florence Procurement Office are all examples of these.
The City of Florence is hosting the forum, which is being put on by SC State Extension and the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce. According to the organizers, working together with public agencies, business groups, and educational partners is the most important part of making the local business ecosystem stronger and more integrated.
