Lake City, South Carolina – A shooting call at a home near Lake City quickly became a domestic violence investigation, with a wounded husband seeking medical care and four children allegedly present when the gunfire erupted.
By the end of the day, a 33-year-old woman remained in custody, facing an attempted murder charge and six other counts tied to the July 12 incident.
Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Daniels Road after receiving a report of a shooting with a victim. When deputies reached the property, the injured man had already left the scene. He was later taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Investigators said his injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening.
The suspect, identified by authorities as Tahnee Elizabeth Daniels, remained at the home while deputies began examining what had happened. Following the investigation, Florence County sheriff’s investigators arrested Daniels on July 12.

Authorities allege that Daniels shot her husband while four minor children were present. The sheriff’s office did not release further details about the events leading up to the shooting, the type of weapon allegedly used or the ages of the children.
Daniels, of 190 Daniels Road in Lake City, was charged with attempted murder under South Carolina law. She also faces one count of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Investigators filed four additional charges of unlawful conduct toward a child, with one count connected to each minor allegedly present during the shooting.
The case now moves into the court system, where prosecutors will be responsible for proving the allegations. An arrest and criminal charges do not establish guilt, and Daniels is presumed innocent unless convicted.
Daniels was being held at the Florence County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing. Additional custody and booking information may be available through the Florence County Sheriff’s Office booking website.

The sheriff’s office has not announced whether more charges could be filed or whether investigators are seeking anyone else in connection with the incident. No additional information about the victim’s condition was released.
