Florence County, South Carolina – A quiet evening in Florence County turned deadly after gunfire struck several people in the Glendale subdivision. By the time deputies arrived, four victims had been wounded and one person would not survive.
The shooting has now become the focus of an active investigation, with authorities asking anyone who saw or heard something unusual to come forward.
The Florence County Sheriff’s Office said in a July 12 press release that deputies responded the previous evening to a reported shooting in the Glendale subdivision area. Investigators determined that multiple people had been hit by gunfire.

Three victims suffered gunshot wounds described by authorities as non-life-threatening. A fourth victim died as a result of the incident, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials did not release the names, ages or other identifying information about the victims. The agency also did not provide details about what may have led to the shooting, whether a suspect had been identified or whether any arrests had been made.
The sheriff’s office emphasized that the case remains under investigation. Additional information is expected to be released when it becomes available.
