Florence police ask public to help identify suspects in shoplifting and fraud investigations

Florence, South Carolina – In Florence, investigators are turning to the public for assistance as two separate cases, one recent, one dating back several months, remain unresolved.

Police say identifying the individuals involved could help move both investigations forward, and they are urging residents to take a closer look at the released images.

The more recent case centers on a reported shoplifting incident that took place on March 19, 2026, at Bargain Ben’s, located at 1639 W. Palmetto Street.

According to the Florence Police Department, a man captured in surveillance images is believed to have been involved in the theft. While details about what was taken have not been publicly disclosed, officials emphasize that even small pieces of information from the public could prove critical.

In a separate investigation, officers are also seeking help identifying a suspect connected to a fraud case reported in November 2025 at Tractor Supply on South Irby Street.

Authorities say the individual in this case is believed to have participated in fraudulent activity, though specifics about the scheme have not been released. The time gap between the incident and the current appeal highlights the ongoing effort to resolve older cases that still lack key leads.

Police are asking anyone who may recognize either individual to come forward.

“Please take a moment to view the attached photo and see if you recognize this subject,” officials stated in their public notice, underscoring the importance of community awareness in both cases.
