Family-friendly youth racing event rolls into Florence this February

Florence, South Carolina – Later this winter, a new family-friendly racing event will take place in Florence. This will give young drivers a chance to shine. The Parks, Recreation, and Sports Tourism department of the City of Florence has announced the start of the Bo-Time Dash, a race for youngsters that will take place on February 28 at the Florence Sports Complex.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the venue located at 1200 Jennie O’Bryan Ave. Organizers say the Bo-Time Dash is designed to be both competitive and fun, offering children a safe environment to experience the excitement of racing. The event is being held in partnership with Bojangles, which will be on site throughout the morning.

Kids between the ages of 3 and 10 can join in. Racers can use either battery-powered Power Wheels-style cars or Big Wheels that don’t have motors. You can’t bring gas-powered cars or other things like bikes and scooters. All competitors must bring their own vehicles, which must be fully charged and and used in combination with a helmet.

There will be dragster-style heats for the races. Winners from each round will move on to more heats, and the final matchups will decide the overall winners in each category. While competition is a big aspect of the event, the people in charge want everyone to know that they will be recognized.

Everyone who signs up to race will get a prize. This includes vouchers for two free Bo-Berry biscuits that can be used at Bojangles restaurants near you. A remote-controlled car is the main prize for the whole event. Also, the first 50 people who show up will get complimentary meals from Bojangles during the event, and the restaurant’s mascot is scheduled to be there.
