Florida – Florida Sen. Rick Scott tried to turn a Fox News appearance into a sharp political warning about Democrats, foreign policy and American values.
Instead, his post on X opened a floodgate of angry replies from users who accused him and other Republicans of ignoring the financial pressure now squeezing ordinary families.

Scott shared the video alongside a blunt message aimed directly at Democrats. “Who do the Democrats actually represent?????” he wrote.
“Democrats side with communist regimes and terrorists instead of American families every chance they get. It’s INSANE and DANGEROUS for our country.”
The post, which appeared on Scott’s official X account, quickly drew heavy reaction as users pushed back on both his message and the broader Republican handling of the moment.

The video featured Scott in a Fox News segment centered on Cuba, Iran, China and what the host described as Democratic opposition to President Donald Trump’s foreign policy.
The host framed the discussion around claims that Democrats were resisting efforts to confront hostile regimes, including Cuba’s communist government and Iran, while also defending past diplomatic approaches such as the Iran nuclear deal.

Scott answered by drawing a sharp moral line.
“Well, number one, I don’t think they know right and wrong,” he said. “Number two is they hate Trump. So whatever Trump does, they hate.”
He went on to praise Trump for standing up to Iran, while accusing the Biden and Obama administrations of appeasement.
Scott also connected the discussion to Cuba, saying China has a spy station there, Russia supports the island’s government and Iran has a presence there as well. He argued that Democrats were giving comfort to regimes that should instead be confronted.
The Florida Republican then broadened his attack to China, saying communist China “steals organs from its citizens” and pointing to the imprisonment of Jimmy Lai, the Hong Kong media figure jailed after criticizing Beijing.
“You look at this stuff and you say, you Democrats, what are you thinking?” Scott said during the interview.
By the end of the clip, Scott had shifted from foreign policy to kitchen-table politics. He urged viewers to judge Democrats by whether their policies helped families, jobs, schools, public safety and daily life.
“The Democrat policies are horrible for American citizens and horrible for America,” he said.
But many users in the comments did not accept Scott’s framing.

Instead of rallying behind his criticism of Democrats, several turned the question back on him. The replies showed a mix of anger from Democratic critics, frustration from working-class voters and impatience from conservatives who believe Senate Republicans are not moving aggressively enough on their own priorities.
One user, @Brandonpmoore, argued that if Scott wanted to sound tough on China, Republicans should take stronger action at home.
“Start reclaiming all land purchased by China under national security directives, demand all American companies divest of all Chicom influence, get the chicoms out of all food related agriculture control ditch the filibuster and start implementing the will of the American people,” the user wrote.
Another response was far more direct, tying foreign policy to gas prices and frustration over the Iran conflict.
“Intelligence reports show that Iran maintains 75% of their missile capabilities. No end in sight for gas prices and you have the audacity to get on X and spew ravaging bullship!! You are a fu**ing disgrace. You represent GREED!!!!” wrote @ronhafler.
Several replies focused less on foreign regimes and more on domestic costs. One user, @Muth88Watt90, accused Republicans of failing the people most affected by inflation.
“You repubs are doing absolutely nothing to help the working class, low income and seniors! Voters are struggling to pay for gas, food and health ins, while repubs want to waste taxpayers money on a ballroom and another plane for him! Tell us again how you are helping us taxpayers!”
The anger was not limited to Democrats. Some of the harshest comments came from users who appeared to want Republicans to move faster and harder.
“Dear Rick Scott, We the People want less talking & more MAGA Actions. NUKE THE FILIBUSTER & pass the SAVE AMERICA ACT!” wrote @JodiVN2004.
Another user, @Lillian71433561, accused Senate Republicans of failing their own voters, writing that continued inaction around the SAVE Act and recess appointments made it seem as though GOP senators were “truly representing democrats.”
“Unfortunately, since all of the senate republicans continue to allow closet democrat Thune to refuse to pass the save act and block recess appointments, we realize that you are truly representing democrats,” the comment read.
The backlash showed the risk of turning a foreign policy argument into a campaign-style attack while many voters are worried about household survival.
Scott wanted the clip to spotlight Democrats and their positions on Cuba, Iran and China. The replies, however, became a public complaint board about gas prices, food costs, health insurance, congressional gridlock and the feeling that Washington is speaking a different language than the rest of the country.
As the video continued to circulate, the exchange became less about one senator’s Fox News appearance and more about the growing gap between political messaging and public patience.
Scott asked who Democrats represent. In the comments, many users answered with another question: who, exactly, is representing families struggling to afford ordinary life?
