Swing states bring the victory and Trump leads Biden in each of them. At least, that’s what a recent poll by Bloomberg News and Morning Consult showed. According to the poll, more people in seven key states seem to prefer former President Trump over President Biden for the upcoming election. These states, which include Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, and Wisconsin, are crucial for deciding who wins the general election.
Biden struggles in some of these states after disputes with key groups
For example, in Michigan, United Auto Workers President, Shawn Fain, in January has endorsed U.S. President Joe Biden. However, some of the UAW members claim that most of the members will vote for Trump. In addition, several Democratic elected leaders continue to undermine Biden’s bid in Michigan, despite Gov. Whitmer calls for support. These officials represent Arab American and Muslim communities and they think Biden failed them since taking over the White House office.
Trump seems to have secret weapon, according to poll
The latest poll from The New York Times and Siena College suggests that Donald Trump might have a hidden advantage in his battle against Joe Biden for the 2024 presidency. It looks like Trump has a lot of support from people who didn’t vote in the last election, which might play a big role in deciding the outcome this November. The poll shows that nearly half of the non-voters from 2020, about 49%, are more excited about Trump, while only 33% feel this way about Biden.
Furthermore, these non-voters are also leaning towards believing Trump will win in 2024, no matter who they personally support. According to the poll, 57% think Trump will become president again, compared to 29% who think Biden will secure a second term.

Trey Hood, the director of the survey research center at the University of Georgia’s School of Public & International Affairs, mentioned that even though these numbers come from people who usually don’t vote, Trump’s ability to get them interested in voting could be significant.
The support for Trump in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania grows
Hood also noted that the enthusiasm for Trump among these non-voters might be because of how the current economic issues, like rising prices and the cost of living, have affected them. This support could be especially impactful in important states like Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
The poll found that a large number of Americans who didn’t vote, 62%, feel that Joe Biden’s policies haven’t really changed their lives. Furthermore, 28% believe his policies have negatively affected them, while only 8% think they’ve been beneficial.
Biden faces very low approval rating; people remember Trump achievements while in the office
These findings are worrying for Biden, especially as he currently has very low approval ratings and is behind Trump in the polls by five points, with just eight months left until the election.
Steven Schier from Carleton College noted that these results are in line with another study he saw, where people found it easier to remember what Trump achieved during his time in office than Biden’s accomplishments.
Schier mentioned that for Biden to win, it’s crucial that more voters recognize and value what his administration has done. He pointed out the challenge for Biden’s campaign to change people’s perceptions by November if they don’t currently appreciate his record.

Non-voters play crucial role in deciding the winner
Trey Hood commented on the uncertainty of relying on non-voter opinions, as past voting behavior is usually a good indicator of future voting. However, he mentioned that the 2016 election highlighted a significant difference in enthusiasm between Trump and Clinton supporters, hinting at the impact such enthusiasm could have again.
