Covering around 47,000 square feet, the new Publix store will provide a broad spectrum of goods and services consistent with the brand’s reputation for quality and customer care. The inclusion of this significant retail area is expected to create roughly 140 new jobs in Florence, hence increasing local economic activity and employment possibilities.

“We are excited to continue our growth across the Pee Dee with our first location in Florence,” a spokesperson for the company said in a statement. “We look forward to our new customers experiencing the Publix difference soon.”

This move is seen as a strategic one for Publix as it seeks to broaden its presence in regions where it has been eagerly awaited.
