Florence, South Carolina – Florence police are asking the public to help identify a man believed to be connected to a hit-and-run investigation from April 24, 2026.

According to the Florence Police Department, the incident happened near the intersection of North Irby Street and West Lucas Street.

Police did not release additional details about the crash, the damage involved, or whether anyone was injured, but investigators have shared a photo of a subject they are trying to identify as part of case 2026-002927.

The department is urging residents to take a close look at the image and contact investigators if they recognize the person or have any information that could help move the case forward. Even a small detail, police indicated, may be useful as officers work to determine what happened and who was involved.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Sgt. Martin by email at [email protected] or by phone at 843-665-3191.

Police also reminded the public that tips can be submitted online through the City of Florence crime tip form at https://www.cognitoforms.com/CityOfFlorence/CrimeTips. The department said tipsters do not have to identify themselves.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have noticed suspicious activity in the area of North Irby Street and West Lucas Street on April 24 to come forward.

For now, the department’s message remains simple: look at the photo, think back to the area and date, and reach out if anything seems familiar.
