Florence County, South Carolina – Florence County residents, get ready to dig into some of the best barbecue around—all while making a real difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. The Florence County Disabilities Foundation’s Annual BBQ Benefit is back, bigger and better than ever, promising a feast that warms both the heart and the taste buds.

The March 11 event
This beloved event, set for Wednesday, March 11, is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of community, generosity, and the power of coming together for a cause that changes lives. The proceeds from this year’s event will directly support over 1,400 individuals throughout Florence County who are living with intellectual disabilities, autism, and head or spinal cord injuries.

Funds raised will help provide specialized equipment, accessible home modifications, and vital vision and dental services—resources that make an enormous impact on the quality of life for these individuals.
But that’s not all! Contributions also ensure that people with disabilities have access to meaningful recreational opportunities, including Miracle League softball and the Special Olympics, where they can develop skills, build friendships, and experience the joy of competitive sports.

A barbecue feast that gives back
This year’s BBQ plates will be available for pick-up from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at two convenient locations:
