American Heritage Festival returns to Graham’s Historic Farm with Revolutionary War reenactments

Florence, South Carolina – The American Heritage Festival will be back at Graham’s Historic Farm near Lake City on February 21–22, 2026. This is a great chance for residents to see important events from America’s past as the country gets ready to celebrate its 250th anniversary of independence.

This is the seventh year in a row that people have come together for this two-day event to keep Revolutionary War history alive through living history demonstrations and reenactments.

The 2nd South Carolina Regiment and the 33rd Regiment of Foot are helping to host the event. It will include reenactments of battles, period camps, and hands-on educational displays that show what life was like during the Revolutionary War. Organizers say the goal is to create an environment where people may not only learn about history, but also experience it.

One of the most exciting things about this year is that a rare item from the Revolutionary War’s southern campaign will be on exhibit for the public to see.

Visitors will be able to see an actual uniform button that belonged to Captain John Roberts. After the Battle of Great Savannah, Francis Marion took him prisoner. The item gives us a clear physical connection to people who fought for independence.

The site itself is a big part of the story. New research and discoveries have made it more likely that Marion used Graham’s Historic Farm during important times in 1780 and 1781, such as when British prisoners were held there after important battles.

In 2026, the event will also include the French and Indian War, which will show how methods used in prior wars affected those used in the Revolution.

Local institutions and historical partners will be there to talk about the farm’s involvement in the southern campaign and in America’s path to freedom.
