After announcing the opening of a new location in North Carolina, Georgia-based business to expand in South Carolina

South Carolina – Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks, based in Georgia, just made a deal to open five new stores in South Carolina. This is big news because it’s the second time they’ve decided to expand by franchising in less than a month, as per the details were in a news release.

Big Dave's Cheesesteaks, based in Georgia, just made a deal to open five new stores in South Carolina after North Carolina opening.

This new business agreement involves two entrepreneurs, Mark Brown, who works as a personal injury lawyer, and Frank Williams III, who is not only a famous comedian known as The Shuler King but also runs a funeral home. They plan to open their first stores in cities like Columbia, Greenville, and Spartanburg.

“I consider myself a foodie and have always been interested in the restaurant industry. I’ve been following Big Dave’s for a few years. As soon as I heard that Big Dave’s was franchising, I immediately reached out. I knew I wanted to work with this brand,” Brown said in the release.

“I’m excited to be a part of the Big Dave’s Cheesesteak brand. Derrick and his wife are great people who are building a legacy and creating opportunities for others. They’re exactly what Marc Brown and I stand for,” Williams said in the release.

Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks Owner Derrick Hayes is thrilled about expanding his business into South Carolina. It’s a big step for him, especially since he started offering franchises just a few months ago.

“Locking in my second franchise deal in under 30 days feels surreal — and this is just the beginning. There’s a lot more brewing in the pipeline as we ride this wave of incredible growth,” Hayes said in the release.

Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks has a presence across Georgia and in the Mercedes Benz Stadium. The brand will open a location in Charlotte, North Carolina, in the coming months.

The North Carolina expansion

Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks is set to expand beyond Georgia, opening a new location in University City, Charlotte, this coming spring. The move marks the brand’s first venture outside its home state, underlining its success and popularity.

Owner Derrick Hayes said he aims to bring his Philly-inspired cheesesteaks to a broader audience, building on a decade of growth that includes several locations and a food truck. The Charlotte branch will feature a 2,100-square-foot space with both indoor and outdoor seating, offering signature dishes like beef, chicken, and salmon cheesesteaks, alongside innovative options such as loaded fries and cheesesteak egg rolls.

This expansion reflects the dynamic culinary scene in Charlotte, promising a new destination for food enthusiasts in the area.
