Florence, South Carolina – Florence police are asking residents to take a close look at several recent public alerts as investigators work to identify and locate people believed to be connected to separate crimes across the city.
In a series of Facebook posts shared early this week, the City of Florence Police Department turned to the community for help in cases involving both shoplifting and armed robbery.
The requests cover incidents reported at multiple businesses, including Bargain Ben’s, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and a location on West Darlington Street.
One of the most serious cases involves an armed robbery reported at Bargain Ben’s on May 18, 2026.
Police said a subject shown in above photo is believed to have been involved in that incident. Anyone who recognizes the person or has details that could assist investigators is asked to contact Lcpl. Murphy at [email protected] or call 843-665-3191.
Police also requested help in a shoplifting investigation connected to Best Buy at 2701 David McLeod Blvd. That case, listed as Case# 2026-003496, happened on May 13, 2026.

Another shoplifting case under review took place on May 14, 2026, at Wal-Mart, located at 230 N. Beltline Dr. Police said multiple subjects are believed to have been involved in that incident, listed as Case# 2026-003469.

A separate shoplifting investigation, Case# 2026-003476, is tied to an incident on May 15, 2026, at 221 W. Darlington St.
