Truist launches virtual workshop series to help small business owners build financial confidence

Florence, South Carolina – Small Business Month is bringing a new opportunity for entrepreneurs who want to strengthen the financial side of their work, whether they are already running a company or still shaping an idea into a real business.

Truist is launching a virtual Small Business Financial Literacy Workshop Series beginning May 27, with sessions designed to give current and aspiring business owners practical guidance on money management, growth, protection and long-term stability.

The series is part of Truist’s “Bank on your success” program and will focus on business finance basics in a simple, useful and accessible way.

The goal is clear: help entrepreneurs better understand the financial decisions that can shape the future of their businesses. From separating personal and business finances to managing cash flow and thinking ahead about expansion, the workshops are built around topics that many small business owners face every day.

The first session, “Separating personal and business,” will take place May 27 from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. This workshop will focus on one of the earliest and most important steps in building a stronger financial foundation: keeping business finances organized and distinct from personal money.

The series will continue June 24 from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. with “Managing cash flow and expanding your business.” That session will look at how business owners can better manage money coming in and going out, while also exploring ways to grow and move their companies forward.

A third workshop, “Protecting your business,” is scheduled for July 22 from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. It will focus on protection and sustainability, including the importance of understanding insurance and planning for risks that can affect a business over time.

“In this course, you’ll learn key elements of business finance basics to manage your cash flow, explore ways to expand your business, and understand insurance for your business,” according to the workshop description. “We’ll also provide valuable take-away resources to help you and your business.”

The virtual format is intended to make the sessions easier to access for busy entrepreneurs, giving participants a chance to learn during short, focused workshops. Each session is expected to offer relevant information that business owners can take back and apply as they continue building, managing and protecting their companies.
