Florence honors police officers for courage and commitment during National Police Week

Florence, South Carolina – Florence is taking time this week to recognize the officers who serve the city with steady dedication, quiet sacrifice and daily courage as communities across the country observe National Police Week.

For the Florence Police Department, the work does not pause when the day ends. Officers respond in the early morning hours, late at night, on weekends and holidays, often stepping into moments when residents are facing fear, uncertainty or crisis.

Their duties stretch far beyond patrol cars and emergency calls. They assist victims, guide young people, build trust through community engagement and stand ready during some of the city’s most difficult situations.

“Day and night, our officers answer the call with courage, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to protecting the City of Florence,” the message of appreciation stated.
