Florence recognized for volunteer driven efforts in recycling cleanup and beautification of the local community

Florence, South Carolina – Keep Florence Beautiful has been praised on a national level for its work to make the community cleaner and livelier. Keep America Beautiful gave the group the 2024–2025 President’s Circle Award. This award goes to affiliates that continuously go above and beyond in their efforts to make their communities better.

Many people and groups in Florence County worked together to make this happen. Keep Florence Beautiful reached this goal with the support of volunteers, local companies, schools, and civic leaders. They have done a lot of different things, like picking up trash, starting recycling programs, and making public spaces better. The award shows that working together may lead to real results.

The award is more than just a way to express gratitude; it’s also a way to keep things going. Keep Florence Beautiful’s inclusion in the President’s Circle shows that Florence is making progress in protecting the environment. It also makes the city a leader among other municipalities that want to cut down on trash, protect the environment, and make the world a greener place.

Leaders of the initiative see the award is a group achievement. This degree of accomplishment would not have been possible without the constant help from the Chamber of Commerce, municipal and county authorities, and many community members. The whole community deserves the praise, not just the group that started the initiatives.

The group wants to build on this notoriety and keep spreading the word about its efforts as it looks to the future. The goal remains the same: to maintain Florence clean, green, and welcoming for both residents and visitors. This can be done through new recycling programs, beautification projects, or stronger partnerships.
