Florence set to host citywide hiring event September 26 at Pearl Moore Basketball Center

Florence, South Carolina – The City of Florence is preparing to host a large-scale hiring event later this month, opening the door to a wide range of career opportunities across multiple departments. Scheduled for Friday, September 26, the event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pearl Moore Basketball Center, located at 500 Barnes Street in Florence.

Organizers say the gathering is designed to streamline the application process by allowing interested individuals to meet directly with hiring managers. On-site interviews will be conducted throughout the day, with positions available in Parks, Recreation and Sports Tourism, Fire, Police, Public Works, Utilities, and several other city divisions.

The event is meant to attract both seasoned professionals and those just starting out in the workforce. City officials have emphasized that the roles being filled are critical to keeping Florence’s services running smoothly, from public safety to essential infrastructure. For many applicants, this will be a chance to secure employment on the spot.

Beyond the positions themselves, the city is highlighting the comprehensive benefits available to new hires. These include state health insurance, retirement plans, paid holidays, and access to a wellness clinic staffed with a nurse practitioner. In addition, employees will receive uniforms and equipment necessary for their roles, along with other workplace support.

With a variety of openings across departments, the September 26 hiring event is expected to draw strong interest from the community. City leaders are encouraging anyone seeking stable work with long-term benefits to attend, noting that the walk-in format makes the process straightforward for applicants.

By centralizing recruitment efforts in one location, Florence is aiming to fill key jobs quickly while offering residents a clear pathway into city service.
