Local Florence restaurant and hotel leaders to discuss collaboration and compliance challenges at a September 25 conference

Florence, South Carolina – The South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (SCRLA) will hold a conference in Florence later this month for area hospitality leaders to talk about working together and following the rules. The meeting will take place on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Seminar Brewing, starting at 9:00 a.m.

Organizers say that the session is a great chance for people who work in restaurants, hotels, and tourism in the area to share ideas and get ready for the problems that are affecting the industry. The chapter’s goal is to strengthen ties between business owners, managers, and service providers who depend on each other to keep the economy growing. The hospitality industry is a big part of Florence’s economy.

The new Mandatory Alcohol Certification Law in South Carolina, H. 3430, will be a big issue of discussion. This legislation compels bartenders, waiters, and managers across the state to receive Responsible Alcohol Certification, such as ServSafe Alcohol, in order to continue working in establishments that sell alcohol.  The regulation is a big change for the sector since it puts more focus on training and responsibility.

For many firms, the meeting will provide a chance to learn more about the law’s obligations and how to stay compliant. Making sure that employees get certified not only keeps businesses from getting in trouble, but it also helps make alcohol service safer. Before enforcement starts, leaders will tell employers what they need to do to make sure their teams follow the rules.

The chapter meeting will also talk about how SCRLA can better meet the needs of businesses in Florence, in addition to the new law. The meeting will address useful tools and new projects that will help both workers and businesses in the hospitality industry, from workforce development to customer experience.

The September 25 meeting is a good time to talk about the changes coming to the local industry as the seasons change and state regulations change. Florence’s hospitality leaders want to be better prepared for the months ahead by talking about compliance, professional growth, and business assistance all in one place.
