Trump spokesperson says ‘he has never been in a stronger position to win’ after Pennsylvania rally

Just two days before the start of the historical trial in New York, former President Donald Trump held a rally in Pennsylvania as a part of his ongoing efforts to win one of the most important battleground states. In a well-known Trump fashion, the former president went after the judge and prosecutors in his hush money case, blaming them for being Democrats who want to block his return to the White House. The Pennsylvania rally was Trump’s first 2024 general election campaign in Pennsylvania.

The presidential race

Even though Trump has maintained a several-point lead over Biden for an extended period of time, the incumbent has improved his position in several states, including the key swing states expected to be decisive in the general election. Pennsylvania is one of them. Both candidates are expected to visit the state frequently through November. Based on the aggregated results of 662 polls so far, The Hill data shows that Trump has a 0.8% lead. In Pennsylvania, Biden currently has a 0.2% lead over Trump based on data from 39 polls, per The Hill.

Energetic speech

Speaking in front of several thousand of his supporters, Trump compared himself with Al Capone. “Remember, I’ve been indicted more than Al Capone, the great gangster,” Trump said. “I never heard the word indictment, I didn’t know, now all of a sudden, if I fly over a Democrat state, a blue state, I get subpoenaed before a grand jury.” As in previous rallies, Trump also claimed baselessly on several occasions that the 2020 election was rigged against him and that he won Pennsylvania. Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in Pennsylvania by 44,000 votes in 2016, but lost to Biden in 2020 by 80,000 votes.

Boosting morale

The Pennsylvania rally once again showed Trump’s strength when it comes to voters’ support in a key battleground state. Such events are highly beneficial for Trump because they are yet another confirmation that supporters back him despite the fact that he is facing criminal charges in four different states. Such events are also later utilized by Trump’s campaign, and that’s exactly what Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt did just a day after the rally.

“Trump has never been in a stronger position to win”

Karoline Leavitt spoke on Sunday on Fox & Friends and provided some insights on the rally and ongoing activities.

“The Americans have never had a stronger contrast than the one they will have on the ballot before them on November the 5th,” Leavitt told Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy. “President Trump has never been in a stronger position to win. He is tough. He is tenacious.” “We will continue to fight for truth in the courtroom and to win the votes of Americans on the campaign trail and they want to confine him to a courtroom but unfortunately for them President Trump has a big beautiful plane that we will continue to use to fly around this country and earn votes,” she continued.

Revealing the truth

Leavitt further emphasized Trump’s commitment to revealing the truth and Trump’s campaign fundraising efforts. As previously reported, Trump raised more than $50 million earlier this month in Florida, which is the highest amount raised ever at a single event. She also explained how Truth Social helps the former president stay in touch with his followers and supporters, where he is free to post everything without fear of being censored.

“He has the power of Truth Social to spread truth to the American public. Our fundraising is exploding and when you go to rallies like the one we did in Pennsylvania last night there has never been more energy more spirit, more love from the grassroots voters of this great country so we’ll continue to fight every step of the way.”
