NUPI Americas announces $7 million expansion, creating 30 jobs in Hampton County

Hampton County – The leader in plastic fabrication, NUPI Americas, Inc., has announced its intentions to grow Hampton County facilities, significantly boosting the local economy. Expected to generate 30 new jobs in the area, this growth calls for a $7 million investment.

NUPI Americas, a subsidiary of the Italian-based Nupi Industrie Italiane S.p.A., specializes in the production and marketing of advanced plastic piping systems. High-quality brands including NIRON, ELOFIT, and SMARTFLEX—which address hot and cold water and gasoline systems among other needs—are well-known for the corporation. Originally founded in Texas, NUPI first set up its warehouse and operating center back in 2016 in Early Branch, South Carolina.

The planned expansion will see the doubling of its current facility at 314 Commerce Parkway in Early Branch. The project includes additional tooling and a widening of the manufacturing area, therefore improving the company’s capacity to manufacture necessary fittings domestically rather than depending on imports.

Marco Genoni, President and CEO of NUPI Americas, claims that this represents Hampton County’s third phase of industrial growth.

“The journey began in 2016 when we acquired the Hampton County spec building, initially focusing on importing goods from Italy. In 2020, our first expansion doubled the facility’s size and allowed us to begin manufacturing pipes domestically. This third phase adds 50,000 square feet of building space and represents a capital investment of over $7 million. It will enable us to produce fittings in the U.S., creating 30 new jobs and reducing reliance on imported goods,” Genoni said, according to a press release issued by Gov. McMaster’s office.

Local and state government officials demonstrated support for the development, therefore highlighting the economic value of NUPI’s local investment. Governor Henry McMaster praised the growth, calling it evidence of South Carolina’s active manufacturing industry. Gov. McMaster claims that the Palmetto State’s evident proof of NUPI Americas’ ongoing success comes from their choice to grow even more.

Harry M. Lightsey III, Secretary of Commerce, also expressed his enthusiasm about NUPI’s decision to enhance their operations. ” We are grateful for NUPI’s commitment to creating opportunities for South Carolinians and look forward to the company’s continued growth in our state,” Lightsey said.

Dr. Roy Hollingsworth, Hampton County Council Chairman, reflected the attitude by emphasizing the significance of the new employment. According to Hollingsworth, every employment brought about by this growth marks a better future for every Hampton County resident.

By 2028, the expansion is expected to be completely operational, therefore offering a notable improvement in the U.S. manufacturing capacity of the corporation. Those looking for job opportunities at NUPI Americas should contact Sandra Garcia at [email protected] for further details.

With this growth, NUPI Americas keeps enhancing its position in the American market and significantly helps Hampton County’s economy to flourish.
