No child goes hungry Florence School District 1 provides free summer meals for kids under 18

Florence, South Carolina – Florence School District 1 announced that all kids under the age of 18 would receive free summer meal services in an effort to help the community during the summer. This initiative is set to ensure that no child goes hungry during the summer months when school meals are not available.

The program offers both breakfast and lunch from Monday through Thursday. Every child is entitled to one meal per day, and participation does not require documentation or identification. All local children should be able to use the service thanks to this inclusive approach.

Meals will be served at five locations across Florence:

  • Wilson High School: 1411 E Old Marion Hwy, Florence, S.C. 29506
  • South Florence High School: 3200 S Irby St, Florence, S.C. 29505
  • John W Moore Middle School: 191 Westfield Dr, Florence, S.C. 29501
  • Delmae Heights Elementary School: 1211 S Cashua Dr, Florence, S.C. 29501
  • Theodore Lester Elementary School: 3501 E Palmetto St, Florence, S.C. 29506

To ensure the safety and proper distribution of meals, children must be present to receive their meals. This measure is in place to guarantee that the meals are going directly to the children in need. This summer meal service is an extension of Florence School District 1’s commitment to the well-being of its students and the larger community. The program removes obstacles and gives families much-needed support for the summer holiday without requiring IDs or documentation.
