Florence Police Department is seeking public help finding suspects in Sunday’s shooting

Florence, South Carolina – The police need everyone’s help to catch the people they think shot someone in a parking lot at a South Carolina mall this Sunday afternoon.

The Florence Police Department had to close down Magnolia Mall for a bit on Sunday because someone reported a shooting in the parking lot close to Burger King around 3 p.m. A deputy from Florence County got at the scene and helped the person who got shot and injured until the ambulance came.

During the initial investigation, the police, along with sheriffs and state troopers, made sure the mall was safe and helped all the shoppers get out safely. Then, they closed the mall to start looking into what happened.

From what the police have figured out, it looks like two masked people walked up to the car of the person who got shot, and at least one of them fired shots into the car. The police think these people got away in a gold Ford Escape from the early 2000s.

The police think the person who got shot was specifically targeted, and they don’t believe there’s any danger to other people.

After the incident, the mall officials said it would be closed for the day. They said they were really upset that this shooting happened in their parking lot.

“The safety of our mall tenants, employees, and customers is of utmost importance, and we continue to cooperate with authorities,” the statement continued. “We thank the Florence Police Department for their continued support. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family.”
