Florence Mayor Teresa Myers Ervin launches 2024 re-election campaign

Florence, South Carolina – On Thursday, City of Florence, S.C. Mayor Teresa Myers announced her bid for re-election at a press gaggle held at LilJazZis in downtown Florence, S.C. “I am excited to announce that I am running for re-election as Mayor of Florence,” said Mayor Myers Ervin.

“The past four years has allowed me to lead the wonderful City of Florence as well as make strides in the area of economic development, community development, and green initiatives.  With the support of the citizens, I humbly ask they vote to continue to work with me in making even more strides for our city.”

Since beginning her role in November 2020, Mayor Myers Ervin has played a pivotal role in fostering investments in downtown and neighborhood development, advancing environmental projects to enhance the well-being and quality of life for the people of Florence, and introducing beneficial business and land development incentives that are sustainable and complement our lifestyle in Florence, S.C.

Moreover, she has taken a comprehensive approach to meet the community’s social needs, recognizing the numerous local organizations’ contributions to improving residents’ lives. She initiated the Mayor’s Coalition for Humanity, aiming to unite efforts and show empathy and support for human challenges.

She said, “My vision for Florence is one that will allow us to be that Utopian city that I know we can be.  With my accomplishments in this first term, we are well on the way.  I am asking citizens to vote me in for a second term to finish, if not come get as close as possible to it, the job I have started.  Our potential is no longer potential; it is now in play for a city we all can continue to be proud of.”
