First Bank opens summer internships to give college seniors hands-on banking experience

Florence, South Carolina – First Bank is giving college students a chance to transform what they learn in school into real-world experience by offering a number of summer internships that will help them be ready for long-term jobs in banking and related sectors.

The program is for college seniors who want to get real-world experience while working in a professional setting. Interns are assigned to certain departments and work closely with experienced professionals to help with everyday tasks and work on important projects. The bank claims the idea is to assist students gain confidence and learn useful skills while also giving them a clear picture of how a modern community bank works.

Internships are provided in many different fields of business, such as accounting and finance, audit, credit administration, data science, project management, software development, and digital and core solutions. The curriculum addresses the changing demands of the financial industry by offering jobs in both traditional banking and technology-focused areas.

The bank says that interns can do more than just watch. Participants are expected to actively help their assigned teams, with tasks that are based on the needs of the department and directed by a reporting manager. This structure lets students use what they’ve learned in school, what they’ve done before, and what they’re interested in to solve actual problems at work.

First Bank says that the program is more than just a summer job. Instead, it is seen as a way to start a career, with chances to network, get advice, and learn about other career routes inside the company and the larger financial sector.
