Darlington woman arrested in Florence shooting incident

Florence, South Carolina – A 22-year-old Darlington woman is facing major charges following a Florence drive-by shooting. Police were sent to the Royal Street site on Friday at 3 a.m. after gunfire had struck a house. As the victim put it, someone else shot out the window while Nylaisha Ja’nay Graham, the woman, was driving the vehicle.

But evidence gathered at the site pointed to a more complex scenario. The two different kinds of shot shells found by police in the road suggest that Graham may have been shooting while driving as well. Investigation made a big step forward when the police found the vehicle that was used in the crime. A license plate reading camera helped police locate the car, which belonged to a Graham family member. Graham was detained as soon as this discovery was made.

Graham now faces multiple charges, including attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. She is currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center. Citing the ongoing investigation, the police have not yet disclosed details regarding the other suspect in the incident. However, authorities confirmed that warrants for attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime have been signed for the co-defendant.

The investigation is still ongoing as police try to get additional information and determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in the shooting.
