Brittons honors 30 years at its Devine Street location as Columbia celebrates a business woven into city life

Columbia, South Carolina – A milestone decades in the making is about to take center stage on Devine Street, where Brittons will mark its 30th anniversary at its current location with a public celebration on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

The event, set to take place at 2818 Devine Street in Columbia, will bring together Councilman Will Brennan, the City of Columbia Office of Business Opportunities, and owner Stacy Levinson to honor a business story deeply tied to the city’s past and present.

Although Brittons has been a family-owned Columbia business since 1947, this celebration focuses on a defining chapter in its history: 30 years on Devine Street.

That moment carries extra meaning for the people behind the store. On the very same weekend three decades ago, what Brittons calls a “Devine Union” took place between Stacy Levinson, the current owner, and Perry Lancaster.

Levinson, a third-generation owner, has roots in the business going back to childhood, having started her journey at just two years old, singing and dancing for Brittons’ customers. This year also marks another major milestone, as Lancaster celebrates his 50th year with Brittons.

The anniversary is not only about longevity. It is also about the relationship between a local business and the community around it.

Over the last 30 years alone, Brittons, along with Perry, Stacy, the Brittons team, and the local community, has raised $1 million for Columbia-area charities. That record of giving was recognized in 2025, when Brittons received the “Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year” distinction.

This year’s celebration will continue that mission. On April 25, Brittons will launch its anniversary event in support of Keep the Midlands Beautiful.

Those who donate $10 will receive 30% off one item, excluding tuxedo rentals and Brackish. The offer ties the store’s anniversary directly to another act of local giving, reinforcing the community-first spirit that has shaped its identity for generations.

For Brittons, the anniversary is more than a look back. It is a celebration of staying power, family tradition, and a long-running bond with Columbia that continues to grow.
