American Airlines to operate non-stop flight and connect Columbia with Miami during summer

Columbia, S.C. – In what appears to be an exciting announcement for travelers, Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) has announced that it will start offering seasonal nonstop flights to Miami in June. American Airlines’ new service is meant to make it easier for people in and around Columbia to get to and from Miami without having to deal with layovers.

Starting on June 8, the trips will take place every Saturday through August 10. The early birds can catch the flight from Columbia to Miami International Airport at 7:30 a.m., arriving at 9:30 a.m. The plane takes off from Miami at 9 p.m. and lands at CAE at 11 p.m.

Mike Gula, President and CEO of CAE, expressed his enthusiasm for the new route saying that he hopes the community takes advantage of this service and shows American Airlines that this service is needed at the CAE airport year-round. Adding this flight isn’t1 just about making travel easier; it’s also about showing that people want and could benefit from permanent connections in the future.

People who want to take advantage of this summer offer can now book through the CAE website. This new flight choice will be a great addition to Columbia’s travel plans, whether they want to see Miami’s famous beaches, its lively arts scene, or just get away for a short time.
