Partnership between GE HealthCare and Help4Kids strengthens local child hunger efforts with $20,000 donation

Florence, South Carolina – Earlier this month, GE HealthCare made a $20,000 donation to Help4Kids-Florence, which strengthened a collaboration focused on helping kids and families in the community.

The presentation of the donation was more than just a gift of money. In addition to the donation, 19 GE HealthCare staff worked with their hands for 90 minutes. Volunteers packed up food and restocked supplies, getting the organization’s facilities ready for the next round of helpers. There were not only boxes and food in the room, but also a lot of teamwork and a common goal.

GE HealthCare wants to help with problems that go beyond the walls of hospitals by supporting local groups like Help4Kids-Florence. For example, having access to good meals is directly linked to long-term health. Stable, supportive surroundings can have an effect on anything from how a child grows up to how to deal with a chronic illness.

The event in February showed how the two groups are becoming closer to each other. Representatives said they were thankful for the partnership and that they would keep working together. Both factions seem determined to keep the momentum going this year and work together again in 2026.
