Florence gears up for free Fourth of July bash with music, fireworks, and family fun

Florence, South Carolina – The City of Florence is getting ready for a fun Fourth of July celebration. This year’s “Fireworks Over Florence” event promises a night full of energy, music, and patriotic spirit. The celebration will be at the Florence Soccer Complex at 1000 Soccer Way on Friday, July 4. It is open to everyone and is free.

The event will start at 5:00 p.m., and early arrivals will have time to pick a good place to watch the show. Families with young kids will be delighted to know that the Kid Zone opens an hour later, at 6:00 p.m. This is a pleasant and safe place for the kids to play before the evening events begin.

The Tru Sol Band will perform live music at 7:00 p.m., setting the mood for the night with high-energy songs. People who are going to the show should bring blankets and lawn chairs so they may sit comfortably. However, event organizers suggest that guests leave coolers, dogs, food or drinks from outside, motorcycles, and scooters at home because they won’t be allowed inside the venue.

At about 9:35 p.m., the highlight of the night will be a stunning 20-minute fireworks show. The soccer complex’s wide-open fields will make for a stunning view of the show.

There will be parking at the Florence Soccer Complex on a first-come, first-served basis. There will also be designated areas for people with disabilities. There will be extra parking at Sneed Middle School and the Florence Center Upper Parking Lot for people who arrive later or want to park somewhere else. From there, participants can use the PDRTA shuttle service, which runs from 6:00 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.

Vendors and sponsors interested in participating in the event are encouraged to reach out to Tim Wilson, Assistant Director of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, at 843-665-3253 or via email at [email protected].

Everyone in Florence, whether they live there or are just visiting, is encouraged to come together and celebrate Independence Day with a fun night of music, fireworks, and community spirit.
