Jim Vietti is the new CEO of the YMCA of Columbia

Columbia, South Carolina – The Columbia YMCA Board of Directors is excited to introduce Jim Vietti as the new CEO of the YMCA of Columbia, starting right away.

Vietti has been a part of the YMCA leadership for 14 years. He’s recently worked as the VP of Operations at the Downtown YMCA and as the VP of Finance for the Association. Before he joined the YMCA of Columbia in July 2021, Vietti was the CEO of the Dow Bay Area YMCA in Bay City, Michigan.

During his time at the YMCA, Vietti has been crucial in the organization’s achievements. He managed the finance and construction of a new Dow Bay Area YMCA building in 2011. Before the YMCA, he worked in financial roles at Quebecor World Midland and KPMG.

“Jim’s extensive experience in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, coupled with his deep understanding of the YMCA’s mission and values, make him the ideal candidate to lead our organization into the future,” said YMCA of Columbia Board President Virginia McMaster, according to a press release from earlier this month. “We are confident that he will build upon our current momentum and chart a new course for growth and impact in the Midlands.”

Vietti graduated from Bob Jones University with an accounting degree. He is really dedicated to helping young people, promoting health, and being socially responsible. He aims to make the YMCA an important part of the Midlands Community.

“I am honored to be named CEO of the YMCA of Columbia,” said Vietti. “This organization has a rich history of service to our community, and I am excited to work with our dedicated staff, volunteers, and members to build upon that legacy. Together, we will ensure that the YMCA continues to be a place where everyone can thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.”
