Public invited to weigh in on I-95 bridge improvements at December 12 SCDOT meeting

Florence, South Carolina – The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is conducting a Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) study to address structural and functional concerns of the bridges along the I-95 Corridor over the Great Pee Dee River in Florence and Dillon Counties.

The study area spans approximately 8 miles, from mile marker 172 to mile marker 180 and includes two bridges over the Great Pee Dee River and ten (five sets of twin) overflow bridges within the Great Pee Dee floodplain.

The purpose of the Public Information Meeting is to provide an update about the study to the community, gather comments from the public, and help identify information about the improvements or impacts to the natural or human environment.

Meeting:

Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., at Clemson Pee Dee Research & Education Center, located at 2200 Pocket Road Florence, SC 29506.

The meeting will follow a drop-in format, with displays available for viewing. There will be no formal presentation, but SCDOT staff will be present to answer questions and receive comments.

If you cannot attend in-person, you can access all the information presented at the meeting by visiting the SCDOT website here.
