Ric Grenell says Biden admin will use the Texas and California border crisis as a political tool to bring millions of voters

California and Texas continue to face challenges in effectively securing the border from the influx of illegal immigrants. Meanwhile, Democrats and the Biden administration are constant targets of criticism from Republican lawmakers and prominent public figures for not doing enough to stop illegal immigration. Among the latest critics is Ric Grenell, who served as an acting national security director and as the ambassador to Germany during the tenure of former President Donald Trump and has vocally criticized the federal government’s handling of the issue.

Growing issue

The issue of illegal immigration, according to several recent surveys, is becoming a serious concern for a growing number of American residents, regardless of their political affiliation. This trend is especially pronounced in states that are not directly experiencing the immediate impacts of immigration surges. However, Americans are more worried about how out-of-hand illegal immigration will affect the future of the country, both politically and economically. People living in sanctuary states and cities are already exposed to the impact of illegal immigration, especially in New York and New York City.

The focus

As the presidential race progresses, former President Trump intensifies his critique of President Biden through social media and public appearances. The border crisis and illegal immigration have now become the forefront of electoral discussions, shifting attention from other major issues like abortion rights. Many prominent Republicans side with Trump, but these efforts are further supported by prominent figures like Elon Musk, who has been calling for changes for months now.

Ric Grenell attacks Biden

Speaking to Newsmax last week, Grenell attacked Biden and the White House administration for purposefully letting illegal immigrants into the country. He used the El Paso incident as an example, when tens of migrants managed to get past Texas guards and enter the U.S. Speaking of the incident, Grenell said the issue of illegal immigration under Biden is only going to get worse in the future.

A political commercial

“This video is going to be a political commercial,” Grenell said on Newsmax’s “Newsline” of the footage, reported through the New York Post. “You can’t deny what’s happening. This is Joe Biden’s border, and it’s going to get worse. “All of these individuals have heard that you can get inside the United States with benefits immediately and that there is no pushback.”

Growing concerns

Grenell also shared his increasing worry over illegal immigration, echoing the concern of countless Americans. He emphasized that these individuals bypass the State Department’s formal process for legal entry. His concerns grow with the uncertainty over who is crossing into the country, suggesting the potential inclusion of terrorists among these groups. Grenell points out that California and Texas, in particular, often face such challenges, citing the El Paso case as just one of many similar examples.

Blaming the federal government

“He’s, they’re not stupid,” he said. “All of the White House advisers and [Alejandro] Mayorkas and all of these people, they know that this is wide open and now people are rushing in unvetted.” However, the White House has “calculated that it’s OK” because Biden’s base wants “a whole bunch of people coming into the country.”

“They have a plan to make all of these individuals voters,” he said. “As soon as they get ahold of the House, the Senate, and the White House, they will immediately bring in 10 million new voters. They think that these voters are going to be for them. I think they’re wrong about that.”

Republicans are not against immigrants

Grenell made it clear that he, along with other Republicans, isn’t opposed to immigrants entering the United States. He stressed, though, their preference for orderly and lawful immigration. Supporting this stance, he pointed out that many individuals who are first- or second-generation Americans and have migrated to the U.S. legally support [Donald] Trump. This is because, according to him, they understand the realities of fascism from their own experiences and have chosen to leave such conditions behind.
