Piedmont Technical College and Coker University expand opportunities for students

Greenwood, South Carolina – Thanks to a new partnership, students who complete an associate in applied science degree in business at Piedmont Technical College (PTC) have the opportunity to directly move on to Coker University to work towards a bachelor of science in business administration, choosing to focus on either accounting or management and leadership. Similarly, PTC alumni who have earned an associate in applied science in computer technology with a specialty in cybersecurity can now also proceed to Coker for a bachelor of science in cybersecurity.

Leaders from both institutions finalized a supporting articulation agreement on March 25, 2024, in Greenwood. This pact further opens doors for PTC students to join more programs at Coker, where their previous academic achievements will be individually assessed.

“As we are in the business of transforming lives, transfer agreements like this expand our ability to empower Piedmont Technical College business majors who wish to obtain a bachelor’s degree,” PTC Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Keli Fewox said. “These agreements strengthen support for our mission by extending educational pathways to student success.”

With this agreement in place, Coker promises to welcome eligible PTC graduates, assigning academic placement as a junior. This arrangement will start with the autumn term of the 2024-25 school year.
