Former Florence County Magistrate Judge Belinda Timmons announces Democratic bid for S.C. Senate

Florence County, South Carolina – Belinda Timmons, who used to be a Magistrate Judge in Florence County, has announced that she will run as a Democrat for the South Carolina Senate District 31 seat. Timmons has a lot of experience in the legal area. She was a magistrate for many years and later became the chief magistrate, showcasing her leadership and judicial expertise.

The seat she intends to secure is currently held by Republican Senator Mike Reichenbach, who has previously confirmed that he will run for re-election. Timmons has made an announcement about her campaign, outlining her motivations and aspirations for the potential role in the Senate. Timmons released the following statement:

“As a lifelong resident of Florence, I have been fortunate to witness our city’s progress, potential, and spirit firsthand. From its bustling neighborhoods to its award-winning historic downtown, Florence embodies the strength and beauty of our great state.

However, we face challenges that require a leader who is defined by the principles of justice, equality, and compassion and has an unwavering commitment to every citizen of District 31. I have worked tirelessly throughout my career to ensure that every voice is heard and valued.

As your Senator, I will fearlessly advocate for the issues that matter most to our community. These include ensuring all individuals have access to the healthcare they choose, feel safe in their neighborhoods, have affordable housing options, and have clean air and safe drinking water.

I promise to be your steadfast voice for progress and prosperity for all.”
