Columbia, South Carolina – Today, there are more digital risks than ever before. To address this issue, Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina is starting its Tech Academy. The goal of this program is to give individuals the important skills and information they need to succeed in the field of cybersecurity. By doing this, Goodwill hopes to contribute to creating a new group of skilled professionals whose job it is to protect digital assets and fight cyber threats.
The Tech Academy’s curriculum is designed to not only give students a deep knowledge and skill in basic cybersecurity concepts, but also to give them the tools they need to protect the digital world. When the academy is over, graduates will be ready for a wide range of jobs, including Computer Support/Repair, Help Desk, Network Specialist, and Cybersecurity Specialist.
The next class will start on March 25, 2024, and those interested can now sign up for it online. Class times are from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will be held at 111 Highland Center Drive, Columbia, SC 29203, and 45 E. Main Street, Greenville, SC 29611. This move shows Goodwill commitment to improving people’s opportunities for employment and meeting the growing need for cybersecurity professionals in the workforce.
Participants in the Tech Academy will be able to get important industry certifications, which will make them even more desirable and give them access to a wide range of new job possibilities. This project shows that Goodwill is continuously working to give people power through education and training, making sure they are ready for the difficulties of the modern workplace.
Students who are interested should fill out a simple form online. Then, a career development expert from Goodwill will contact them for an initial screening and to give them more information about the Tech Academy.
