Upcoming Florence Chamber events

on Tuesday, 11 September 2018. Posted in Arts & Culture, Education, Local News

On September 14, The Chamber will be hosting an Education Update Breakfast. The program’s speakers are Molly Spearman, SC Superintendent of Education, Dr. Fred Carter from Francis Marion University, Ed Bethea from Florence-Darlington Technical College and Dr. Richard O’Malley from Florence One Schools.

With the need for continued workforce development throughout every sector of our business community, this program will be a window into the future of staffing our businesses. Call the Chamber at 843-665-0515 to reserve your spot or company table.

There is a small admission cost of $20 per person to cover the cost of the venue and breakfast. Remaining monies will be used to help support the Fellows In Education and Junior Leadership programs.

The Greater Florence Chamber and Greater Hartsville Chamber will be hosting this year’s Pee Dee Grassroots Meeting on September 28. The venue is being sponsored by SiMT and the breakfast will be provided by Sonoco Products.

The event is being presented by The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce as it develops their 2019 Competitiveness Agenda. The program will provide an overview of 2018’s state legislative accomplishments and will seek feedback on issues our local businesses and manufactures want to see addressed during the coming year. Your involvement helps everyone us be heard in Columbia as they set business priorities for the 2019 legislative session. The event will be held at SiMT on 1951 Pisgah Road. Breakfast is served starting at 7:45 a.m. and the program begins at 8 a.m.

Admission is free for all community leader’s and businesses; however, registration is required.
