Students honor former IB coordinator by raising funds to fight cancer
WILLIAMS AND WILSON STUDENTS FORM IB FOR A CURE RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM AND RAISE OVER $2,000 FOR THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY.

An IB for a Cure Relay for Life team was formed this year in honor of Jennifer Hill, who was the middle years IB Coordinator up until 2014. Florence School District 1 students from Williams Middle School and Wilson High School raised funds throughout the year for the American Cancer Society.

Students and teachers asked for donations for die-cut feet and luminary bags, and they sold IB for a Cure t-shirts Saturday night at the Relay for Life event held at Freedom Florence. Also several IB students sold shaved ice and nachos in the IB for a Cure tent. IB for a Cure exceeded their $2,000 goal and raised $2,049 for the American Cancer Society this year. Students plan on making this an annual fundraiser.
