School of Dance Arts named Studio of Excellence

      The Association of Dance Competitions and Conventions recently recognized the School of Dance Arts as a Studio of Excellence.

      The studio is under the direction of Devin Shearer.

         This was the first year back to a regular competition season for SDA following the pandemic. After a successful season, the studio was proud to receive this award to celebrate their growth and improvement.

         The students attended Dance Machine in Supply, N.C., the weekend of April 1 and are now preparing for their year-end recital at the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center May 10-14. Tickets are on sale now at the box office.

        Auditions for students interested in SDA’s competitive teams will be held May 16-17. Summer registration is open now and on June 1 registration will begin for the 2022-23 season.
