Mike Reichenbach hosts grand opening for two new dealership facilities

Following 16 months of planning and construction, Mike Reichenbach officially celebrated the opening of two new showrooms for his Florence Automotive Group last Thursday evening. Mike Reichenbach Ford Lincoln is located at 600 North Coit and Mike Reichenbach Volkswagen of Florence is right across the street at 611 North Coit.

In recognition of the tremendous economic impact created through the investments of this locally owned company, dignitaries, including Florence Mayor Stephen J. Wukela and representatives from Ford Motor Company and Volkswagen of America participated in the dedication activities and festivities. “This area of Downtown Florence has not seen investment and construction of this magnitude since 1969 when the original Ford facility was constructed,” said Mike Reichenbach, president of Mike Reichenbach Automotive Group.

“We have invested $5.4 million to construct these two new state of the art dealership facilities to bring 21st century service to our customers and friends in Florence and the Pee Dee area. We are also proud to create a beautiful new image at the North entry to Downtown Florence.” The Reichenbach Auto Group employs 90 people.

“We are so grateful for the way that the people of the Pee Dee have welcomed us, truly adopting our family and dealership since we moved to town,” commented Charisse Reichenbach, director of marketing for the Reichenbach Automotive Group. “We have adopted the Pee Dee as our home, so it made sense to invest in the future of this wonderful and growing community.”

That recognizable name first appeared on the building of the Ford Lincoln dealership just seven short years ago when Mike and Charisse Reichenbach moved their family to Florence and took over the heritage dealership, Horne Ford. That was the fall of 2008, at the start of the worst economic downturn in recent history. Now, thanks to the welcoming support of the local community and some hard work, Mike Reichenbach Ford Lincoln has grown and prospered, more than doubling in sales.

Two years ago, Volkswagen of America chose Mike as the dealer principal for their new Volkswagen of Florence franchise. The store opened in November 2013 in temporary housing while the construction of the new building was planned. This new Volkswagen dealership is now housed in a state‐of‐the‐art facility with a top notch service department and an enthusiastic sales force. Mike Reichenbach Automotive consists of three franchise dealerships in South Carolina, including the two in Florence.

The third and newest dealership is Mike Reichenbach Chevrolet in Bluffton–Hilton Head. “The Ford store was our very first dealership and continues to be our anchor,” Mike commented. “Mike Reichenbach Automotive is headquartered right here in Florence!”
