Middle years students excel on Spanish exam

Twenty-five students in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IBMYP) at Williams Middle School attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2016 National Spanish Exam, and are eligible to apply for the 2017 Global Citizen Scholarships for Underclassmen.

Students received recognition at the gold, silver, bronze and honorable mention level. Students Isabella Ouyang and Patrick Wang received gold level recognition. Silver honorees include Rene Chinery, Emily Edgerton, Rosana Ervin, Thomas Faile, Alexis Hinson, Joyce Ji, Aalia Malik, Sarah McCown, Madelyn Parrot, Gracyn Richardson, Navkaran Singh, and Houston Taylor.

Bronze honorees are Patrick Kasper, Sandy Lin, Brianna Mason, and Blaise Nettles. Students receiving honorable mention include Jack Belt, Breanna Gayle, Timothee Gillier, Etroy Green, Peyton McLeod, Meghan Roberts and Mary Watts.

The National Spanish Examinations are administered each year and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
