Lighthouse Ministries Brown named Good Neighbor of the Year
City of Florence Community Relations Manager Retha Brown was presented Lighthouse Ministries’ Good Neighbor Award during the organization’s annual banquet on Sept. 8 at the Florence Country Club.
Brown, who has worked for the city for 17 years, is a long-time active supporter and board member of Lighthouse Ministries. She continues to be an advocate for Lighthouse Ministries by helping to secure grants and presenting on first time home buying to families in our programs.
Born in Williamsburg County, Brown attended Francis Marion University and Limestone College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Lighthouse Ministries is centered around the prevention of homelessness, child abuse, and child neglect in Florence County. Through our financial assistance programs and educational opportunities, the ministry strives to both provide basic needs assistance for families who struggle to maintain a safe and secure home, as well as develop healthier parent-child relationships within our community.
