Florence County Museum Dinner to serve as a fundraiser for acquisitions
The inaugural For Good with a Goal Oyster Roast, Low Country Boil and BBQ event to support the Florence County Museum Education and Acquisition Fund will take place Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Florence County Museum,
The museum is located at 111 West Cheves Street.
For Good with a Goal will feature catering by local favorites, Tubb’s, Holt Brothers BBQ, Venus, Sweets by Delish and other heavy hors d’oeuvres.
Tickets are $100 for non-museum members. Members receive a discounted rate of $75. Advance tickets are on sale now at the museum.
No ticket sales at the door.
The 2019 event will benefit the Florence County Museum Transportation Assistance Program. This initiative was established to reduce the cost transferred to students and families due to rising transportation costs for public schools. Information about the program and eligibility for sponsorship can be found on the museum web page, www.flocomuseum.org.
Additionally, funding will support the growing art and history collections at the museum. Last year the museum was able to acquire a collection of work by William H. Johnson and his wife Holcha Krake. A selection of this collection can be seen in the Special Exhibit Gallery on display now through May 17, 2020.
Fundraising goals and fund allocations will be announced and presented to the Florence County Museum Board in January of 2020.
