ERS, Med-Enroll workers find joy in giving
Employ Reward Solutions, joined this year by Med-Enroll, are continuing their annual fund-raising efforts to assist local charities. This year the employees at the two companies formed three teams, all competing to raise the most money for their chosen recipients – House of Hope of the Pee Dee and Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board.
All three teams are preparing and selling meals at lunchtime, each hoping to acquire bragging rights by raising the most money from their efforts. Last Thursday, the Green Team barbecued chicken quarters on the grill and plated them with homemade potato salad, baked beans a roll and homemade cake.
Plates were offered for a $10 donation. The Green Team also created a snack cart with a wide variety of cookies, candy and soft drinks to add to their fund raising. The Red Team hosted a tex-mex dinner on Tuesday, also for a $10 donation. The Silver Team will host a surprise lunch on Dec. 17.
ERS has conducted this holiday project for four years. One hundred percent of the money collected goes to charity. “This is a way for us to give back to the community and provide a team building project at the same time,”commented Christa Nivens with ERS. The charities were selected by the employees. “It is very nice when people help raise money for you. We appreciate it very much,” commented Ellen Knight, development director with the House of Hope.
